We get asked this all the time, especially when clients find out we have three dogs at Finanche HQ — our loyal German Shepherd Sasha and two mischievous Labradors: Laika and Hugo! They’re part of the team, part of the family, and yes, they definitely boost morale (and occasionally security).
In most cases: No, pet expenses aren’t tax deductible.
HMRC is pretty clear: unless your furry friend is wholly and exclusively for business purposes, costs like food, vet bills, grooming, and toys are considered personal and can’t be claimed.
